51 – Sharing

Sonny was on his lunch break. He went to McDonald’s and got a double quarter pounder meal. He was hungry!

As he was leaving the drive-thru, he noticed a homeless man on the side of the road. At first, he started to drive away, but something called him to share.

Sonny pulled over and rolled down his window. “Would you like my burger?” he asked the homeless man.

The homeless man’s eyes widened in surprise. “Are you serious?” he asked.

“Sure,” Sonny said. “I don’t need it as much as you do.”

The homeless man took the burger and smiled. “Thank you,” he said. “God bless you.”

“You’re welcome,” Sonny said. “God bless you too.”

Sonny drove away, feeling good about what he had done. He knew that he didn’t need the burger as much as the homeless man did. And he was happy to put his needs before his own.

As he drove back to work, he thought about how lucky he was. He had a job, a home, and food to eat. The homeless man didn’t have any of those things. And yet, he was still grateful for what he had.

“Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.”

Hebrews 13:16

52 – Shine

A young woman’s name was Janette. She was 22 years old, and she had just moved to Boston for a job as a marketing manager. She had never been to Boston before, and she didn’t know anyone there. She was feeling lost and alone.

One day, Janette was walking down the street when she saw a group of people gathered around a man. He was talking to them about Jesus, and they were listening intently. Janette stopped to listen, and she was immediately drawn to the man’s words. He spoke with such love and compassion, and she could tell that he truly cared about the people he was talking to.

After the man finished talking, Janette approached him and introduced herself. She told him that she was new to town, and she asked if he could help her find a church. The man was happy to help, and he gave her the name of a church that he thought she would like.

Janette started going to the church, and she quickly made friends with the other members. She felt like she had finally found a place where she belonged.

The young woman was also inspired by the man who had talked to her on the street. She started to read the Bible, and she learned more about Jesus. She realized that she wanted to live her life in a way that would glorify God.

The young woman started to share her faith with others. She would talk to her friends and family about Jesus, and she would pray for them. She also started volunteering at a local soup kitchen. She wanted to show others the love of Christ through her actions.

One day, Janette was volunteering at the soup kitchen when she met a homeless man named Shane. Shane was a kind and gentle man, but he was also very troubled. He had been addicted to drugs for many years, and he had lost everything.

Janette started to talk to Shane about Jesus, and he was open to what she had to say. He started coming to church with Janette, and he began to read the Bible. He also started to pray.

Over time, Shane’s life started to change. He got clean and sober, and he started to rebuild his life. He also started to share his faith with others.

Janette was so grateful that she had been able to share her faith with Shane. She knew that she had made a difference in his life, and she was proud of the role she had played in his transformation.

Janette’s life was changed by the Bible verse Matthew 5:16. She learned that she could make a difference in the world by letting her light shine for Jesus. She is now a faithful follower of Christ, and she is committed to sharing her faith with others.

“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”
