38 – Giving

A young man was a successful businessman. He had everything he could ever want: a big house, a fancy car, and a beautiful wife. But he was not happy. He felt like something was missing in his life.

One day, he was walking down the street when he saw a homeless man. The man was sitting on the sidewalk, begging for money. The young man stopped and looked at the man. He saw the man’s dirty clothes and his unshaven face. He saw the man’s empty eyes.

The young man felt a pang of guilt. He knew that he had more than he needed. He knew that he could help the man.

The young man reached into his pocket and pulled out a $20 bill. He handed the money to the man. The man looked up at the young man and smiled.

The young man smiled back. He felt good about helping the man. He knew that he had made a difference in the man’s life.

The young man walked away, feeling happy. He realized that he didn’t need money to be happy. He needed to help others.

The young man started volunteering at a local soup kitchen. He helped to feed the homeless and the poor. He also started donating money to charities that helped the needy.

The young man was no longer unhappy. He found his purpose in life. He found happiness in helping others.

This story is an inspiration to us all. It shows us that money is not the most important thing in life. Helping others is what brings true happiness.

“No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.”

Matthew 6:24
